Do FAIRIES exist part 2 : Fairy Fool
The discovery of fairies was an actual April Fool's joke, and very likely one of the biggest hoaxes in the UK. Illusionist Dan Baines created this fairy and others like it as a hoax. His website received 20,000 hits in one day. This story was in newspapers throughout the UK.
Dan Baines a 31 year old illusion designer for various magicians came up with quite the unique April fools prank in his former town of Derbyshire England. Baines created the corpse of what he called a fairy. The corpse was equipped with: ears, hair, a naval and of course the necessary fairy wings. The "fairy" measuring about eight inches long with a skeletal body attracted fairy believers by the thousands.
Baines snapped pictures of the foney fairy and posted them on a website and the internet fairy believers responded in force despite the fact that April fools day was right around the bend. The website received some 20,000 hits in on day from the curious and the gullible all aching for a peak at the Baines's fairy. Baines apparently in awe of the sheer number of "intelligent" people that believe in the existence of fairies stated "Although I have said it's a hoax, people still believe it's real." "They believe its just a cover-up so let the illusion continue." Now whether fairy's actually exist well is still anyones guess. It would be indeed unfair to totally discount the fact that fairies exist when one takes into account the other things millions of other people believe in with just as little supporting evidence.
Here is the interview between BBC News in UK and Dan Baines....
